Restoration at Trelew near Mylor Project News, Environment 18/02/2021 by Andrew
Parts of Cornwall are truly inspiring. Trelew near Mylor is one of these places. As the influence for the idealic village from the hit British film Arthur Christmas, it’s always a treat to visit there for work.
We helped achieve planning permission to restore Trelew Farmhouse back in 2019. The buildings had been neglected and left to the elements. Vegetation creeping in and swallowing the home. Damp and dereliction consuming what was once a legacy of generations.
Naturally the buildings are listed. To make the whole project viable, we also gained permission to convert the listed barns. I was fortunate to go back there today to see the progress. Such a worthy project to be involved in. The restoration has been carried out impeccably.
What was once overgrown and barely habitable is now a gem of Cornish architecture. Traditional materials and methods used throughout, the character and significance fully restored for future families to enjoy.
