Award Winning Heritage-led Development Project News, Heritage-led 15/10/2020 by Andrew -
In late 2020 this project received a special award from the Cornish Buildings Group for its contribution to the World Heritage Site.
I’m naturally really proud of the project which is now complete and being enjoyed by local families in Redruth’s Plain an Gwarry area. It does look fantastic! The site was formerly a 1960s bungalow of a low architectural style. It’s prominently located, surrounded by internationally valued heritage, and now developed into 3 homes with gardens and parking.
The scheme was led by our robust heritage strategy giving a clear and effective route to maximise the planning benefits. Falmouth’s Hormann Architects provided the submission drawings, and with quality input from Cornwall Council’s officers, the permission was granted with a good majority vote in favour from the West Planning Committee. The CBG award and recognition from Cornwall’s World Heritage Team, completes the satisfaction seeing this worthy development come all the way from concept to completion.
I love working on challenging projects like this, even more so when they’re so carefully brought into reality by an excellent team and an effective planning system.
Testimonial
From an initial idea, and a property without planning, Andy listened to exactly what I wanted to achieve, held that in mind, made me feel supported through the process and fought my corner until a successful planning approval.
